Projects and career roadmap
A 12-week plan and five portfolio projects that turn the course into evidence of engineering skill.
- 1. The 12-week planPace the course over twelve weeks with one concept block and one hands-on deliverable per week, and use active recall and the teaching test to make it stick.15 min
- 2. The portfolio project ladderFive progressively harder projects, each with a problem statement, architecture, milestones, evaluation, testing, deployment, security, resume bullets, and interview talking points.30 min
Teaching test. You understand a concept when you can explain it simply, calculate a small example, implement it, and diagnose when it fails.
Don't wait to "finish the theory" before building. Alternate a concept, a calculation, a code experiment, and a short write-up. For every project, compare against a simple baseline and report failures honestly.
| # | Lesson | You will be able to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The 12-week plan | pace the course with a weekly hands-on deliverable |
| 2 | The portfolio project ladder | scope, build, evaluate, and present five progressively harder projects |
Your strongest AI-engineering advantage is the combination of ML understanding, reliable backend engineering, evaluation discipline, and production observability.
